Chat to edit scientific figures. From draft to publication-ready.

Trusted by researchers from leading institutions worldwide

Three ways to start
Write the mechanism, components, labels and layout you want. The agent turns it into a plan, then a draft.
Write a briefDraw boxes, arrows and words on a sketch pad. SFG reads the sketch, confirms what it understood, then draws the figure.
Open the sketch padUpload a figure to redraw or restyle, or open one of 60 scientific templates and adapt it to your study.
Use a reference imageWorkflow

Circle the original, send a color change, and generate a connected edited version. Both images are kept. “Make this T cell purple. Keep the labels.”

Tumor microenvironment · Every version stays. One original. Multiple directions. Keep them all.
Your original stays. Your change becomes a new version.
Refine
Replace shorthand with precise terminology, without rebuilding your figure.

Change “Escape” to “Endosomal escape” and “Ribosome” to “Cytosolic translation”.
Escape → Endosomal escape · Ribosome → Cytosolic translation
More precise labels. The same scientific illustration.

At a glance
The essentials, kept current. Compare it with BioRender, FigureLabs, SciDraw and ConceptViz.
You can ask for changes to text labels, arrows, colors, elements, and layouts. Circle the relevant area and describe what to change and what to keep, such as correcting a gene name, reversing an arrow, or arranging panels side by side. Results vary, so review the whole figure after each edit. Full canvas editing currently requires a desktop browser.
No. Each edit creates a new image node connected to its source, rather than overwriting it. While you work on the canvas, you can compare versions or return to an earlier node and try another direction. Generated results are saved to your account.
New verified accounts receive 5 free figures (30 credits at signup, 20 more the next day). All three models use 10 credits for each successful 1K generation or edit and 20 credits for each successful 2K result. GPT Image 2.5 Flare is the default. Every result has no watermark and includes its download. Explore plans and credit packs.
Every successful 1K or 2K result in your account includes a PNG download with no separate unlock charge. SVG export and independently editable vector objects are not currently available. Check the final pixel dimensions against your intended print size or submission requirements.
Commercial use depends on the applicable model-provider terms and the rights in any material you supply, as explained in our Terms of Use. Make sure you have permission to use your prompts and reference images for the intended purpose. A downloaded result does not guarantee copyright protection or clear third-party rights. Read the Terms of Use.
It depends on your target journal's policy and the type of figure. Check its rules on AI-generated images and disclosure before submission, and verify every label, structure, arrow, and image specification against your research. SFG helps create illustrations; it does not validate scientific results or guarantee journal acceptance. View the publication checklist.
Subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly, with credits added each month, including on yearly plans. Credit packs are one-time purchases with no automatic renewal. All three models use 10 credits for each successful 1K generation or edit and 20 credits for each successful 2K result, with downloads included. You can cancel subscription renewal online through the Waffo customer portal using your purchase email. Cancellation is separate from a refund request; contact us about your renewal date, remaining credits, or refund eligibility. Contact subscription support.
Your prompts and uploaded reference images are processed by our image-service providers to generate and edit figures. Saved account figures are stored for later access; guest previews are temporary. Only upload material you are authorized to share with these services, especially unpublished or sensitive research. Contact support to request deletion of your account or related records. AI helps with illustration—not scientific validation. Check every label, structure, and arrow against your evidence before publication.
